I, like millions of people love to dine out. I love going to a restaurant to have someone wait on me, cook for me, and then do all the cleaning up. It is such a treat. We spend more money and waste more calories eating out. In 1995 the USDA estimated that Americans eat up to 30% of their meals dining out. It also states that these meals take up to almost 50% of our food budgets. This percentage will grow by leaps and bounds into the future. Can you imagine how much the percentage is here in 2007?
Eating out becomes a huge challenge when you are trying to eat a diet that is health conscious. Watching what you eat when you are away from home can be a real challenge for several reasons. They all seem to come to the same conclusions : How can you possibly stick with your diet if you can't control what your eating when dining out.
Now here's the kicker---you can control your dining out experience no matter where you decide to eat! You are the paying customer and you are in charge of your eating. From the time you make the decision to eat out, grab the keys to your car, go into the restaurant, order and pick up your check you have had to make the choice to either order the food that you wanted or to be coaxed and manipulated into eating something that will blow your calorie budget to the moon. It all comes down to the choices you will make!.
Remember you always have a choice!
