Feeling Fantastic About Yourself

If you are like me, you know that shedding your extra weight helps you feel better about yourself. You probably also see exercise as a means to an end to losing weight. Not feeling positive about an exercise program might be doing you more harm than good mentally. It might even be preventing you from feeling good about yourself at this very moment even if you are losing weight.

At this point we need to give our self a simple attitude adjustment which you help you feel more comfortable with the skin that you are in. This will help make your weight loss journey a whole lot easier and more motivating. Below are some ways to adjust our exercise attitude and make your weight loss journey a success.

Make friends with both your inner self and outer self.

Free online Health AssessmentSelf esteem is about feeling good in your own skin, on both the inside and outside of yourself. Let's take a look at what makes our self esteem tick. No matter how hard we try to lose the weight or exercise if we don't feel good about ourselves we will still be unhappy with the results that we attain. Self esteem is the process of "moving yourself", from where you are right now towards your goal or the place you want to be.

Your journey is more important then your goal.

In order to increase your self esteem, you need to engage in something both actively and effectively in something like exercise, which is good for both your mental state (inner you), and the outer you, which is your body. This is the key to reaching your goal. If your goals are unrealistic or you are exercising and losing weight for the wrong reasons then your inner self will let you know. You will not feel good about yourself and what you are doing until you make them simple adjustments to your attitude and do what is best for your inner self (mind) as well as the outer self (body).

You will also have the same problems if you are not consistent in working towards your goals, like changing course and going on a crash diet to lose weight. In order to feel good about yourself, you have to treat yourself with respect and you have to treat yourself like how you treat others. If that means that you have use your imagination to make yourself think you are worthy of respect and self worth then that is where you need to begin.

Right Way, Right Reasons

If you are carrying unhealthy baggage like you hate your body, you don't like the way you look, or you can't stand to look at yourself in the mirror due to being overweight, then exercising the right way for the right reasons might be a short cut away from these problems.

It means making another simple attitude adjustment. You will need to change your attitude towards your body. You will need to respect and love your body for what it is capable of right now. You will need to trust your body and allow it to be your guide. It will teach you how not to make your body an object of hate, contempt and ridicule.

Below are the basic bare bones of attitude:

Exercise for You

Exercise is good for you; in fact there really aren't any side effects to exercise if you are doing it correctly. If you are exercising because you want to take good care of yourself and because it is good for you, then this approach will boost your self esteem. When you have a positive attitude towards exercise and it's benefits, then you and your body become friends and the communications open and your inner and outer self can work together allowing it to get what it needs through exercise. This will work much better then setting out to burn calories so that you can get rid of that dreaded ugly fat you despise.

Challenge Yourself

The simple act of setting up goals and watching yourself achieve them works wonders on your self esteem. Keep an exercise journal where you record what you are doing during your exercise sessions, noting your improvements. Challenge yourself and then reward yourself for winning the challenges. Pay attention on how exercise improves your mood and let your body teach you the intensity of exercise to change your mind in order to change your body.

Playtime Fun

Everyone needs some play time no matter how young or old you may be. Have you ever noticed how happy your dog or your child is when you let them outside to play? Everything on earth feels the same thing. This need to play never goes away no matter how old we get, how out of shape we are in or how serious our lives are. The more exercise we can get, rather if it is in sports, games, or any other activities that are fun and rewarding. Be creative and turn some of your neighborhood walks into skate boarding, roller skating, bike rides, Frisbee games with your dog or maybe even some belly dancing.

Research studies have shown that exercise makes us feel better about ourselves and our bodies. Once we make a simple adjustment to our attitude and exercise for health and well being, we will experience positive changes not only on the inside but our body will follow suit and change on the outside.

Simple Attitude Change on the inside + Exercise for the right reasons = Higher Self Esteem and a fantastic look on life!!
