Getting In Shape While Looking Good

$10 off a 90 day limited term membershipWe are going to play with our assets while dropping the pounds and getting in shape. If you are like me and joined a fitness center or a gym, you are feeling pretty good about yourself wanting to get in shape and become healthier. Often times we join fitness centers and gyms when we are feeling bad about our weight and our appearance just isn't what we want it to be. This kind of negative thinking can effect whether we go to the gym or waste our money by not going. Women get stressed when they start thinking about changing their clothes in a dressing room if they are embarrassed by their body shape after gaining weight. Men worry about their belly hanging over their belt. Does this sound familiar to you? The next best thing would be to look your best, which is a baby step to making your exercise plan work. Don't worry, it can be done.

Below are some tips for looking good and feeling your best when working out.

  • Start with the correct underwear. Some people that go to the fitness center wear the wrong underwear or none at all. Some people come to the gym with none at all and they don't realize how much other people can see if they are taking a yoga class or something like that especially if there are mirrors in the class room. Wear appropriate underwear. They don't have to be fancy and cutesy but they should be made of a high quality fiber like cotton that keeps moisture away from the skin. They should also be cut correctly for your clothing. Fitness clothing experts suggest a comfortable full cover panty should be wore under your shorts or sweat pants and a thong should be worn under leggings since underwear has a tendency to bunch up and chafe.
  • Women should invest in a good sports bra. Don't look for a bra that is sexy and cute, go for MBT Revolution what feels comfortable when exercising. If you don't wear a sports bra and you are bouncing all over the place, you are going to feel like people are watching you. There are several good sports bra's on the market today that specialize for the bigger sized ladies.
  • When first going to a fitness club or gym, newbies tend to pile on our oversized clothes and some even layer their clothing. Wear the proper size of clothes. If you wear a large then wear a large. Trying to wear clothes that are too small make you look larger, wearing clothes that are too big for you make you look bigger. Fitness fashion experts tell us that we should wear clothes that follow the line of our shapes and have some waist definition. They say if we wear shirts that fit like tents they will make our legs look like short stumps. They say we should wear T-shirts that are figure slimming with a length that is at high or mid hip. As for layering our clothes, remember that layers add bulk to our figures.
  • Accentuate the positive. We should play up the good parts of our bodies while we are still working on the other parts. Fitness Fashion experts tell us to that we can show off our slim abs by wearing a snug tank top over loose legged athletic pants because they will camoflauge a heavier bottom. A T-shirt worn over bike shorts shows off your legs while disguising the upper body. Yoga pants can show off a tiny waist, but will hide fuller hips especially if it has wide capri legs or is boot cut.
  • Stripes can be tricky. If you decide to wear stripes, make sure they are going the right way to draw attention to your slim parts of your body. If you have stripes running down your sleeves or pant legs, they will visually trim your arms and legs. If you wear horizontal strips, which by the way are hard to wear. They can create an impression of being wide, so it is best to avoid them.
  • Colors: Are you tired of going to the gym in our old white tshirts and your gray sweat pants? Then stop! Fashion Experts have added a touch of color to everything from basic colors to prints. It is still a good idea to wear darker colors for bottoms since lighter colors make you look larger. That doesn't mean you are stuck with black, there is now dark brown, navy and dark green. For the top, wear colors that accentuate your face, eyes and hair. Wear the colors that people compliment you on outside of the gym or fitness center. Feel good about yourself.

While at the gym or fitness center just be yourself and enjoy the experience. Make sure you get fitness clothing that makes you feel good and special. Get moving in the right direction and feel great while getting in shape! Most importantly, just get moving.
