Weight Loss Tips

 

  • Designate a place in your home or work that you will do all of your eating. Sit down and enjoy your food by eating slowly. Sitting down helps you to focus and to give your attention to your eating. By eating in the same place, you identify and associate that area with eating.
  • Go grocery shopping only after you have eaten. This helps you to buy the foods you need and not to shop for the foods of impulse. When you shop for your groceries be sure to stick to your list. Make sure your list is complete before going to the grocery so you aren't tempted to buy extra goodies. Read and watch the food labels. Foods that contain a high level of fat or carbohydrates will slow down your weight loss program. Don't just count grams, count percentage of total calories that are of fat or sugars.

 

  • Don't think that if you are eating low fat/low calorie foods that you can eat as much as you want. The calories still add up and must be burned off regardless of the food that you eat. Balance is the key.
  • If you are planning to eat out, know what you will be eating ahead of time and don't waver.
  • If you want to stay healthy and have permanent weight loss then you must add exercise into your life. Along with cutting down the fats and sugars that you eat, exercising regularly will be one of your best friends in improving your health and in helping you lose weight..
  • Water is essential for our bodies. Water is the best diet drink. We should drink 64 ounces a day..

 

  • Success is when you can look beyond food and see your feet.
  • Eat to live, not to live to eat.
  • Keep a weight loss journal.
  • Treat exercise as an appointment you must keep, it is as important as a dentist appointment.
  • Bake, boil or broil your food instead of frying.
  • Don't be the garbage disposal, just throw the leftovers in the garbage.
