Desktop Yoga

Desktop yoga is a new twist in the world of of yoga. It can be easily practiced from the chair in your office. This type of yoga is perfect for those who spend hours at their desks in the workplace. This is a wonderful exercise that will bring about a wellness at the work place.

This yoga style was developed by Dr. John A Allocca in response to the growing need for a yoga style that can be performed successfully in a stressful society.

In this type of yoga, the mind needs to focus its attention on the combinations on breathing and slow movements. This yoga practice stills the mind, and creates relaxation.

Desktop yoga can be done while sitting in an armless desk chair. It is a slow intensity, short duration, series of postures which will take about 15 minutes to perform, not including the meditation. Below are some warm up techniques before getting started.

All movements should be done slowly, while you are concentrating on your breaths. These moves are not to be done quickly, this is not an aerobic exercise.

Some may want to meditate after doing desktop yoga to wrap up the session. It is just a way to refresh and awaken yourself.

Desktop yoga is a simple and effective way to stretch the body's key points that tend to become still or painful. When you do these simple stretches in your office, or even at home you are doing a simple form of yoga, which can go a long way to maintaing a basic state of relaxation.

Note:If you have any physical problems , then consult your doctor for specific exercises.
