Exercise and Stress
Exercise and stress! Have you ever just wanted to hide in a corner from all the stresses in your life. Stress seems to find you around every corner. This is why we need to add exercise to our daily lives. Exercise is the key to helping with your stressors in your life.
Exercise might not be the most exciting word that you have ever used, but it is a word with tons of benefits, with one of those being stress. Daily exercise will not only make you healthier, but it can also decrease the effects of stress on your body.
How many times have you heard this comment, "the doctor says it is related to stress"? Normally we just ignore the comment, thinking that doctors use that statement because they really don't know what is wrong, or how to explain the illness. The nitty gritty facts is that too much stress plays a huge role in many diseases.
Exercise can help you to increase your immune system, and decrease your stress level. Movement is the key to health. Try walking, stretching, or any kind of exercise that suits your lifestyle. You do not need to run out and buy a piece of exercise equipment. Just include movement into your daily life, and reap the benefits of a healthier lifestyle, and much less stress.
If you like to do aerobic exercise, then grab a friend, and do it together, this will make it more enjoyable. Make it fun, walk, jog, or go for a bike ride together. If you want to, you can even keep it simple by walking, and just hanging out together. My husband is my fitness buddy, and it is a blast.
Exercising with someone else helps keep us accountable, and helps us achieve the goals we have set for ourselves.
We have been told for several years that walking is the best overall exercise you can do for your health. As long as you have a good pair of walking shoes, you should do great!
As you go through your daily activities, make it a point to walk a little further, bend down, and pick something up without using a stick, or moving the item with your foot, this will help you incorporate a little more exercise into your day. While you are sitting, you can do some simple, and quick stretches for your neck and shoulders, you could even throw in a couple leg raises.
If you enjoy sitting around watching the TV, you should consider buying a jogging board. These padded boards will make running and jumping in place easier, and it is less stressful on your knees and joints, and they are super easy to store. They can also be taken with you if you travel.
In my opinion, jogging boards are one of the best pieces of equipment you can buy. They are so much cheaper than a treadmill or an elliptical machine.
There are a lot of exercises that you can do to eliminate stress in your life. Walking is my favorite, as you can easily lose yourself, and your troubles while you are walking. Take a walk around the block to release some of the tension you are feeling. Walking can do wonders for your health as well as your stress.
If you have a lot of stress in your life, you may want to consider working out at a gym, or a fitness center. After a good workout, sit in a sauna because that will also relieve your tension. If your fitness center has a pool, you may find that swimming will be beneficial and very relaxing.
Exercise definitely will help release some of the stress that you are carrying. Just get out there, and start moving. You will find that any kind of exercise routine not only relieves stress, but makes you feel fantastic. Exercise and feel wonderful!
