Exercise, Sleep, and Energy
Do you have a hard time sleeping at night? Did you know that exercise will not only increase your energy, but it will increase the quality of your sleep that you will get. Exercise benefits your body in a million different ways.
Regular exercise naturally increases your energy level throughout the day, which makes you feel more motivated, positive and happy, which is a fantastic benefit.
Our bodies have a natural temperature rhythm. Our bodies temperature rises when we are awake, and makes us feel alert and alive. Our body temperature also falls when we are sleeping, which will give you a deeper and uninterrupted sleep.
Daily exercise keeps your temperature from flat lining, which will help you sleep easier on stressful days, and even on days that you don't exercise. If you exercise regularly, it will delay the evening temperature drop allowing you to stay awake, and alert a little longer.
Another added benefit to exercise is that it relieves stress, which is a major concern when it comes to sleep disorders. When you have a lot of stressors in your life, your sleep is interrupted.
If exercise is not part of your daily routine, it isn't to late to start. Some say the best time to exercise is early in the morning because it will assist in a quicker temperature rise, but you have to decide what best suits your lifestyle.
You should avoid exercising 3 to 4 hours before bedtime because your body temperature will still be on the rise making it difficult to fall asleep.
Exercising doesn't have to be extreme. When I say begin to exercise, that doesn't mean you have to run out and join the nearest gym, or start a full blown exercise program, that will cause you to fail. This could do you more harm than good.
Moderate exercise has the most beneficial benefits for the body, and you can even do the workouts in your own home. If you are not in favor of repetitive exercise, you can choose a more demanding cardio workout like aerobics, cycling, walking, jogging, tennis, or whatever your lifestyle allows. These will have the same effects on raising your body temperature.
The thing I guess I am trying to portray here is, that you need exercise to give you the energy you need to get you through your day, and the uninterrupted sleep it will give you during the night. We need to have some kind of exercise in our life if we are going to have a healthy lifestyle. Let's get moving!
