Food Cravings and Weight Loss

food cravingsI am the worst when it comes to food cravings and weight loss. I crave anything sweet, burgers, and Whataburger fries. It is like a huge battle that sometimes goes on in my body. Food cravings are a huge factor in my weight loss and gain. If you have the same issues as me, then you may find this article interesting.

Don't Give Into Your Cravings

There you are, at the counter ready to pay for your newspaper, and you see it. You see the snickers candy bar, and you just have to get one. You will get it just this one time, and then you will return to your diet. You go home; you do not feel like cooking, and then you think of ordering pizza. A couch potato eating unhealthy, and giving into your cravings. The pizza will be on its way to your home, and your journey as a couch potato will continue. You are watching television, and you see the super sized double burger with extra grease. The next time you are driving around that is your destination of choice. The journey to obesity begins with cravings, and these cravings have the ability to carry you all the way to your grave if you do not have the fortitude to control them. This is not to say that one candy bar, or a slice of pizza will kill you. That claim is absurd, but it is based in reality.

Obesity claims the lives of over 300,000 people each and every year. Indications show that number to be rising ever higher with little hope for a downward turn. The sad fact is that obesity for a normal healthy individual begins one bite at a time. Cravings account for many of those bites and as a result the individual needs to grow in knowledge and not give into too many of those food cravings. Only by overcoming cravings can an overweight person begin the journey to a healthy lifestyle.

If you suspect you are insulin resistant this would be the perfect time for you to make dietary changes that will assist you in overcoming your weight problem. At this stage in your weight loss journey, your frustrations have brought you to a slow grind with your weight loss ability. The knowledge you are about to gain will transform your disintegrating positive attitude back into a pillar of strength. The Craving Cure

If there were a pill that would eliminate all of your cravings you would run out and buy one. Unfortunately there is no such weight loss pill available for you today. If there were, the inventor would have sold trillions, and would now be the richest person alive. So what is the cure for cravings?

The answer is nothing new, or exciting, and it is what has been preached to the masses time and time again and is nothing you do not know. To help control cravings is the same answer as how to lose weight. It is the same answer to help prevent heart disease, or even diabetes. The way to control your cravings is to eat a well balanced diet daily.

If you are having constant craving for candy (or other) then chances are you are depriving your body of much needed carbohydrates. As with all aspects of weight loss the key to deflating food cravings is quite mundane. It takes a well rounded diet that includes the consumption of the needed requirements of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and also fiber. If you were to set yourself up with a daily diet of the needed foods then your cravings for sweets would go way down. If you were eating the required amounts of various food groups when you saw a chocolate bar it would not be nearly as tempting. Actually if you were providing your body the needed nutrition with a well rounded meal selection chances are you will not want to eat that Snickers bar.

If you decide that a well balanced diet is beyond your time constraints, and that it is something you can not do, then be ready to stay overweight. In today’s world it will take an effort on your part to stick to a diet that is balanced and healthy. This effort will result in a healthier you. If you do not change to a well balanced diet then be prepared to become obesity victim 300,001. This may sound harsh and unusual to hear in today's politically correct world, but we said it anyway. There are many obese people walking the planet today that will not be alive in a day or two. If you do not make the change your day will one day arrive all too soon. You know this, you fear this and now you need to do something about this. The only question you need to answer now ....is when?

Eat for nutrition, and don’t eat to just curb your cravings. Food cravings and weight loss is a mixture that just doesn't work well together. Believe me I know! If I can do this, so can you. Join me in a toast (water of course) for a healthier lifestyle.
