You have to remember that dieting also has to include your mind set about life, and exercise, which will lead to your success.
- THE DASH DIET by Dietician Maria Heller. The DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. This diet is promoted by the National Institution for Health, and The American Heart Association. This weight loss diet plan advocates moderate amounts of fat and protein.
It also advocates eating high amounts of carbs. This diet is primarily used to loser blood pressure. It follows the food pyramid guide, and encourages you to eat whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and low fat dairy.
This diet is not designed for weight loss, although some may lose weight by following this weight loss plan. Dr. Ornish recommends a low fat, plant based diet that uses vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, and soy products in their natural forms. He also advocates moderate quantities of egg whites, nonfat dairy, or soy products, and small amounts of sugar and white flour. - EAT RIGHT FOR YOUR BLOOD TYPE: This weight loss diet plan is based on your blood type. It recommends the people with blood type O eat plenty of meat. Diet plans for some blood types are nutritionally imbalanced, and too low in calories. For the record, there is no actual proof that the blood type affects your dietary needs.
- THE PRITKIN PRINCIPLE by Nathan Pritkin. This weight loss diet plan advises you to have 6 meals each day with limited serving sizes. This weight loss plan focuses on trimming the calorie density by eating watery foods that makes one feel full. You are advised to eat vegetables, fruits, oatmeal, pasta, soup, salads, and low fat dairy. This meal plan does limit protein sources to just lean meat, seafood, and poultry. The one drawback to the plan is that you may feel unsatisfied and hungry.

- THE ZONE DIET by Barry Sears. This weight loss diet plan focuses on the balance of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. This weight loss plan is based on hormones, not calories. It claims that most people are insulin resistant, so carbohydrates make them fat. This diet can be considered healthy, but low in grains, and calcium. It is also hard to live on for the rest of your life.
- WEIGHT WATCHERS. This weight loss diet plan is a high carbohydrate diet, but also allows a moderate amount of fats and proteins. This is a very healthy weight loss plan, and is flexible enough to make it a way of life. It allows you to plan your own meals rather than a set meal plan to follow.
