Hoodia Weight Loss

Hoodia weight loss is taking the world by storm. Hoodia Gordonii, which is a natural appetite hoodia suppressant, that comes from South Africa, and is not a cactus, but a succulent plant. It grows very well in extremely hot climates , and is strictly protected by the local laws of the land it is grown. Some refer to it as a "Diet Pill" while in the UK it is referred to as a "slimming pill". There are many claims that Hoodia has helped several people lose weight.

Hoodia works as a natural appetite suppressant that has its history with the native Africans using it to complete long journeys across deserts. They not only used it as an appetite suppressant, but also for its healing values to treat minor infections, and indigestion that occurred. The key difference in using Hoodia in Africa and using it in the western world is that in Africa it is a fresh whole plant, while in the west it is used as a dried powder.

When analyzed under the strict rules of science it has been revealed that there is one molecule in the plant that causes it to react as an appetite suppressant. The molecule has been named P57 and has been patented by a company named Phytopharm. The company is the only one that can manufacture any diet pill that will actually suppress a person's appetite.

An important fact to remember is that there have been limited tests actually done on Hoodia Gordonii, and one common thread is that for it to be fully effective you need to eat the fresh plant. The quantity of P57, when consumed in powdered form, is not enough to be effective.

There is no doubt that Hoodia can, and will suppress a person's appetite. There is evidence out there to support the fact that Hoodia helps achieve weight loss. The sad reality is that for Hoodia to be effective is that it should be eaten in fresh form, and that is impossible unless you live in Africa. With the plant being heavily regulated in Africa, and now being on the list as being an endangered plant, there is little chance of this becoming the weight loss product that the media has hailed it to be.

The medical world has not yet been convinced as the marketing world about the weight loss attributes that Hoodia holds. There are many claims out there that tell stories of major weight loss, but be assured that not all of them are true. Once again, the issue always ends up as a personal decision, and that can only be answered by the person sitting at the other end of this computer monitor. You choose, is Hoodia a legitimate weight loss product, or a scam.
