Keeping a Fitness Journal
Keeping a fitness journal is a great tool to help you get started. It helps you stay on track, and reach your fitness goals.
Record what you have done for exercise daily, because this will help you keep track of your progress. You will then be able to look back and see where you started from, where you are right now, and what you need to change. It will let you see what kind of exercise pattern habits you are developing.
Using a fitness journal is something you can use it to get started on your new healthy lifestyle, or you can use it forever so that you can stay on top of what you are trying to achieve.
You can also document your eating habits, and how you are feeling for the day. Just try to write in it consistently so you know where you are. I find keeping a fitness journal to be very motivating, and it keeps me on my weight loss journey.
I also find that I like shopping for a great notebook to write in, and a special pen that will stay with my fitness journal. It makes me feel good writing in something I enjoy looking at, and it makes it a relaxing activity, and not a chore.
Document what you are doing now. Just start writing, it doesn't matter if it is good, bad, or indifferent. That is why you are keeping a fitness journal, to keep track of everything. Don't worry about writing down that you only did 1 sit-up instead of 10, or you ate a cookie right after your workout.
We all need to quit making ourselves feel guilty when we miss the mark of being perfect. You bought the journal, so you know you are ready to make some changes, and in order to do that you have to see what you are doing. Right?
