Normal Bowel Movement / Abnormal Bowel Movement
That is the question?
Would you ever knowingly flush $40.00 down the toilet? Would you ever flush a barometer down the toilet? This may sound like silly questions but I bet the answer is yes and you do not even know you do it two to three times every single day. The color and size and shape of your bowel movement can provide a wealth of information to someone who knows what they are looking at.
I would like to take a few movements and discuss what you are just flushing away when you have a bowel movement. When you poop are you just flushing away a visit to the doctor’s office by throwing away what is the barometer of your body? I am not saying that you should not flush the feces away.
What I am stating is that you should at least give it a second private glance to ensure your innards are functioning well. Now that you know you should give “it” a second glance I guess we should discuss what you are actually looking at during your casual glance.
One of the first indicators can be about your diet. If you ate too much fat then guess what? Too much fat in your diet is indicated by a floating poop. That’s right, if your feces floats then you have consumed too many fatty foods and you should consider cutting back to less fats.
Another indicator of an off kilter diet is the smell. If the smell makes you want to vomit then you are stuffing yourself with too many foods or liquids with artificial flavors or chemicals. You can reduce the offensive odors by eating more natural foods that do not contain artificial flavors or chemicals.
A good indicator of the workings within is how many bowel movements you have per day, on average. A healthy person goes about three times each and every day. If you go to the bathroom more than that it is more likely diarrhea.
I do not feel the need to address what this is because chances are you are familiar from past experiences. What I would like to mention is constipation. If you do not go at least once every day then you may have an issue like not drinking enough water.
The point is that how many bowel movements you have per day is a very good indicator of your inner plumbing and how well those “pipes” are being maintained.
The color of your excrement is also extremely important. Feces will often be light or dark brown, which is natural. Consult a doctor if there is blood with stools.
Do not be alarmed if there is bright red blood because this may just be from a hemorrhoid. You should still consult a physician just to be sure, as I do not proclaim to be a doctor or provide medical advice.
If it appears black and tarry, or very light or pale in color it may be a condition that is serious. It can even be a sign of ulcers.
Okay, so if all things are working well in your body and you are eating the right stuff then what would be a good shape? If you were in search for the perfect turd, what would it look like?
A well formed stool is soft and flexible. They have good texture, volume and are easily passed without any straining. They make a clean exit from the body and do not require thirty seven sheets of toilet paper.
If you have a healthy lifestyle your bowel movements should follow a pattern. You should have a routine that is predictable and uneventful.
So stop flushing away the barometer before you take a reading. There may be a serious storm coming and you need to know the signs.
