Well, physical fitness is one of the simplest, and most effective ways to bring down blood sugar, it also helps prevent heart disease, and it improves your health and well being.

The world we live in has become lazy, and people have become sedentary. The internet is at our fingertips, and alot of us do everything online. We have remotes for all our gadgets, a cell phone where every we go, and so it makes exercising, and becoming physical fit a hard sell because it involves moving.

The fact of the matter is that we should all exercise, yet some surveys reveal that here in the United States, only 32% of the adult population will exercise at least 30 minutes a day. One survey even showed that more that 25% of adults are inactive.

Some experts believe that inactivity is one of the key reasons that type 2 diabetes has risen in the United States. Inactivity, and obesity promote insulin resistance, and many other factors that trigger other kinds of disease.

Here's some great news though: It is never too late to get moving!!! Exercise is one of the easiest, and simplest ways to control the onset of related diseases. For those who are already candidates of diabetes, and heart disease, exercise, and physical fitness can improve the condition of some parts of the body like insulin sensitivity. It can also lower the risk for heart disease, and help you to lose weight.

In 2003, the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism published an article regarding the result of their study, and found that the lack of exercise, and physical fitness were the key factors behind obesity, and other serious disease like diabetes.

It is extremely important for us to stay healthy, and fit in order to avoid such illnesses.

If you are a true blue, dyed in the wool couch potato, then the first line of business would be for you to see your doctor. You need to do this to see if it is safe for you to start an exercise plan. You need to make sure you are healthy.

If they find any heart problems, your doctor may want you to take further tests like a stress test to establish a safe level of exercise for your health.

There are times when certain complications of some diseases will determine which type of exercise program you will be able to do. Activities like weight lifting, jogging, or high-impact aerobics can possibly pose a risk for people with certain illnesses.

If you have any conditions that make exercise a challenge for you, your doctor will be able to refer you to a certified exercise physiologist who can work with you to design a fitness program that is adaptable into your lifestyle.

If you are already active in sports or you work out regularly, you would still benefit from talking to your doctor about your work out routine.

Physical fitness and exercise does not have to be an intense activity. Your exercise routine can be as simple as a brisk walk in your home neighborhood, taking your dog for a walk, or simply taking the stairs instead of the elevator. The most important thing is that you are up and moving. Every little bit helps in the long run.

In the end, you will realize that the benefits of being physical fit will outweigh going back to the remote, and your recliner. This is why physical fitness is so important, we need to get up and just start moving, and your life will improve in more ways, that you would of imagined.
