Weight Loss Diet Plan

Choosing a weight loss diet plan is important for our health. It is essential that we watch what we eat, because our food is killing us. Especially if we are getting it at the nearest fast food drive through on our way home from work.

The obesity is a major concern in North America, and weight loss is a serious health priority. We are becoming an obese nation, and obesity is one of the top contributors of death, next to having a heart attack.

There are some important questions we should be asking ourselves if we are obese, like:

Healthy weight loss diet plans are put into place to help us achieve our goals, but we have to do our part.

A new weight loss survey asked dieters to identify their three biggest obstacles that they face when trying to lose their weight. The top three single replies were:

So lets take a look at these things, and see if we can find a pot of weight loss luck at the end of this rainbow.

How Can I Stay Motivated?

We all can understand that we didn't get overweight by starving ourselves. We probably have eaten way to many calories, or didn't exercise. Most of us know how we gained our weight, and we all know that we have to learn how to eat healthier, and exercise.

We know some of the incentives of losing weight like more energy, feeling a little more healthy, losing weight for your spouse, family, or doctor, but the motivation is short lived and tends to go down at sunset.

So what will motivate you this time to lose weight? I have a couple of suggestions, but it has to be something that is personal, something that will feel a little selfish, and be a personal benefit to you! Below are some ideas:

Whatever you choose, it has to be specific with a fixed date. An Example might be: I want to lose weight, and get in shape in 6 months. I just booked a 7 day romantic exotic southern Caribbean cruise for me and my husband. I want some husband time, if you know what I mean! I am going to drop 3 dress sizes, and lose 50 pounds to make this happen!

Doesn't this sound better than losing it for someone else! Make up your own plans, be creative and make it happen!

Hunger: Why?

Many of us see food as the enemy, and use caution around it when we are trying to lose weight. We all relate dieting to hunger so we eat like birds, and then we finally give up because we are literally starving ourselves.

Being hungry on a diet also leads us to overeat or binge. Dieting was never meant for anyone to go hungry. If you are hungry after eating then you are probably not eating the right amount of food, or you are not eating the right kinds of food.

Never skip a meal, this sometimes will cause you to be really hungry. If you are eating regularly during the day, and eating the the correct amount of calories a day, while adding 45 minutes of exercise, then your weight will come off. Regular eating reassures your body that food is abundant, so it burns calories more efficiently.

Bad Diet Days!

Most dieters strive for diet perfection when trying to lose weight. We leave no room for a treat, or the freedom to have a cheat day. When a bad diet day hits, we can't seem to stop with one cookie, we eat the whole bag, or eat the entire container of ice cream.

We overwhelm ourselves with guilt, then we look in the mirror with shame at the person looking back at us. We are disgusted at what we see. We need to STOP!

Eating ice cream and cookies is ok, we just have to watch the amount we eat. The real damage that happens is what we do internally to our psychi, we fill ourselves with negative talk , hate, and disgust.

We have to learn we are not perfect, if we were, we would all be size 4's. Give yourself permission to make that occasional slip up, it makes dieting a lot less stressful.

In Conclusion

Most of us need a weight loss diet plan thas has some kind of support system in place. Having no motivators, being hungry all the time, and getting over bad diet days are problems we all face.

There are several weight loss diet plan forums on line, some are inexpensive. Maybe your family and friends are the only support that you need.
