Your Mind and Exercise
Are you like me, and have started and stopped exercising, it is like it is a mind game when it comes to exercise.
I always have great intentions when I start an exercise program, and I put my whole heart, soul, and mind into it at first. Then it happens! My work schedule changes, or the dog dies, or the teenagers are having a crisis, or the hubby is stressing over something, and all of this gives me the excuse of not having to exercise for a day or two.
Not exercising then turns into a couple weeks, then a couple months, then a year, and the guilt starts settling back in. After this you guilt yourself into exercising all over again.
Somewhere along this journey, you shake your head, and wonder what in the world happened. The weight has crept back on, you get winded going up a flight of stairs, and then WHAM!
You are right back where you started from, and wondered why you have failed yourself once again. Does this sound like you?
If This Sounds Familiar to You, Then You Are Not Alone
The problem here seems to repeat itself is like an endless rerun of The Biggest Loser, which has nothing to do with your muscles and exercising, but everything to do with your mind and what you are thinking.
Before you start our next well planned exercise of your muscles and body parts, please pull over for a tune up on your mind. We need to pause, and get our mind to take the lead. If we can get our mind to lead, our body will follow suit.
Your mind (thoughts) control how our body is going to respond to exercise. If your mind is saying you can't exercise, and get into shape, then you can't. If we can change our thoughts our bodies will follow, and we will be able to take our bodies to ultimate health.
So let's stop and introduce our bodies to our mind. When we are telling ourselves we can't exercise, no matter what is going on in our lives, just stop, tell yourself it is ok, and continue to exercise. Your thoughts will change, and so will your body.
Lets get to ultimate health by letting our mind convince our bodies that exercise is an impossible task. Lets exercise, get our bodies in shape and love living inside our new healthy beautiful body.
